Let’s try this again. I guess the ‘real’ reason The Rapture’s new video for “Get Myself Into It” was pulled by the RIAA was because they need to do some last minute editing — like blink and you miss it but there’s Jessica Simpson. I guess she did a rollerskating video too? Who watches that shit anyway.

So how did the “un-edited” version find its way onto MTV and the Internets? I don’t know. Why did the RIAA pull it off of YouTube for a two second Jessica Simpson joke? I don’t know. Whatevas. I love this song like hard.

Woop, woop. The video for The Rapture’s funktastic “Get Myself Into It” has found its way onto YouTube. God bless YouTube. Their new album, Pieces Of The People We Love, is out September 12th. That’s like almost tomorrow.

Edit: Btw, YouTube wants every single music video ever. Ever. That’s busy.

Edit 2: Ok, so the above video was removed by request of our friends the RIAA. Because God forbid a promo video be seen before the release of an album. I mean really… people might see the promo, and then want to go out and buy the album. Major labels wonder why their album sales are hurting and blame p2p instead of looking at the irresponsible lobbyist group they employ. It’s a viscous cycle. Duh. Anyway… tangent.

I’m pretty sure this track leaked a while back, but it seems like we’re getting an “official” mp3 promo now. Good news. Ya’ll should be seeing this on like every blog out there. Unless you only read bigstereo. And then you just need to get out more.

Anyway, if you didn’t already know then I’m sure you could suspect that I’m a huge Rapture geek. Like, I have a portrait of Mattie Safer tattooed on my arm. I swear to God. But really, this album is going to be huge. Like, we all know The Rapture worked with Paul Epsworth, Ewan Pearson and Danger Mouse. Like I said. Huge.

This year, Headman is back with his own brand of electro – house – rock further bluring the lines between indie rock and dance music. His new album, On, is set for a March 2006 release on Gomma Records and is quite easily his best work yet. It features collaborations with Erol Alkan, Stephan Dewaele from Soulwax, Ed Laliq and of course Matty Safer from The Rapture.

The Rapture better watch out. I’m starting to like these Matty Safer tracks an edge more than what The Rapture does. I would be content with a Matty Safer solo album – much in the same way Erland Øye did his album with different producers and artist. The Matty Safer/Headman track isn’t quite a show stopper like last year’s Matty Safer/Tiefschwarz track, but it’s up there. Decide for yourself though.

Not to totally kiss ass – but if To Here Knows When isn’t on your blog roll then you’re really missing out – simply one of the best.

Disco-punk really has little where else to go. James Murphy creates great tracks, but he hasn’t really done much different in the past few years. The height of it all is the success of LCD Soundsytem – major label deal, sold out club tour, Grammy nominations – Murphy might have painted himself into a corner. Who Made Who brought the emergency lights though… perhaps breathing much needed life into the soon-to-be-yesterday genre. If disco-punk needs direction then this might be it. Who Made Who adds in some much need pop and keeps it all under five minutes. Thank god.

Not to be out done, The Rapture have added their own spin on Who Made Who’s latest single, “Space For Rent.” Unlike the original, they’ve brought in some much needed crunchy synths that make it that much better for the dance floor.

But in all it’s greatness, it doesn’t sound like a typical Tiefschwarz song… or what we’ve come to expect from Tiefschwarz. That’s where Cass & Mangan step in – cutting up Safer’s vocals and adding an acid bass line. In Cass & Mangan’s hands, “Warning Siren” goes from sounding Rapture-esque to sounding Tiefschwarz-esque. Just like that.

The single also features ace remixes by Buick Project and Anthony Rother.

The boys from The Rapture make this track very easy to like.

Boomkat puts it best: “The title track is converted from distinctive Justin Timberlake disco stomp to a glorious symphony of bleeps and bloops by The Rapture, who seem familiar with the sound of Kraftwerk trapped inside your favourite Colecovision game.”
