This a special post to wish Saul Q, aka Mr. San Diego, a very happy birthday weekend celebration! Saul is the only guy I know that celebrates his birthday for a whole week! He’ll have couple parties here, a couple dinners there and get togethers everywhere. Anyways, his two main parties are this weekend and its the best time to check out his parties if you haven’t already. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SAUL, WE LOVE YOU!

So It’s been about a week since all the madness began. Too much crazy shit happened. We were pretty much the only ones representing every band with a dance routine. Most DJ’s don’t even support each other and most of them play the same shit. Bands rule, and rocking out drunk from noon until 2am for five days in a row pretty much kicks ass, and then it kicks your ass once you go back home. We had a blast and can’t wait to go again next year. Thanks to all the great DJ’s and bands that showed their love to the BigStereo family. In particular thanks to Spektrum, DJ Omar, Peaches, Johnny Love, DJ DJ Dylan, Franki Chan, Daniel, Yo Majesty, that awesome cab driver with the English accent from Texas, Cheyne, Nathan, Katrina, Walter Meego, Greg, Lo Fi Fnk, Lazaro, Factory People, and the rest of you that said hello or tried to dance. A Big fuck you to UV Vodka and Monster for the bad hang overs.

Paparazzi replaces the Neptunes’ stale drum kit on “Yummy” with “Knockout” and creates a club ready track. “Yummy Knockout” feels a bit like a rough draft… BUT it is a direction that I wish Stefani had explored on The Sweet Escape. Hell, Stefani’s rap in Paparazzi’s take doesn’t sound like she’s totally tripping over herself. And the fact that we don’t have to suffer through the same Pharell and Chad Hugo production that has dominated the Top 40 charts is enough to replace the album version with Paparazzi’s track. Biggest regret is the last minute of the original “Yummy” wasn’t totally amped up, integrated and abused.
