The Database boys are back with a collaboration with Brazilian country-mate’s Bonde do Role… Miami is the subject. Parallel to last year’s Bonde do Role song “Miami Beach” perhaps, but this “Miami” is mostly Database. The duo has pushed and pulled a hook into a full on electro-disco track.

Bang Gang 12 Inches always, always delivers. This time with their BEST release yet — from TheDeathSet!! I don’t know if anyone else is literally jumping up and down about this release, but I am. For real. Which makes it hard to type.

Anyone who has caught this band live knows that they put on the craziest, funnest shows ever. Their MySpace photos prove it. And Bang Gang has managed to capture and bottle that excitement with remixes from Treasure Fingers, Bumblebeez, Bonde do Role and G.L.O.V.E.S. Obvs you don’t need me to tell you that you can’t go wrong with any of these guys… and having them working on the Death Set is pure magic.

It’s hard to imagine “Negative Thinking” under a Treasure Fingers’ filter — but it works. This track ends up classic Treasure Fingers with hints of the original peaking through:

Omg, it is Lightspeed Champion versus all of Brazil. Or at least a handful of Brazil. Ok, let me tell you I’ve been waiting a few months for the remixes of “Galaxy of the Lost” to drop, and guess what… they’re not being released. So here we are with Database, Bo$$ in Drama annnnnnnd Bonde do Role. Hmm. To pick a favorite: I think I gotta go with Bo$$ because of the vocal stuff he did, but all the mixes are rad for such different reasons. Which is your fav? Collect them all!

While the future of Bonde Do Role hangs in the air — it is pretty much certain that Marina’s shoes are big ones to fill. While official word from their camp is they’re currently recruiting a replacement, my secret (ok, not so secret) hope is Gorky and Pedro continue as a duo while bringing in guest vocalists as needed. “Miami Beach,” off the recently released Marina Gasolina, is perhaps the bands most commercial friendly track to date, and is the perfect example of how a Marina-less Bonde Do Role might sound. Certainly anyone could sing that hook. If this is the direction they’re heading then the band still has a lot of potential for future success…

Smoke My Tabaco recently posted this remix of “Micose.” Totally highlights everything I love about Bonde Do Role — crazy sounds and gestures thrown together to make something that sounds remixed one thousand times already.

Following the departure of Marina from the band, it is with great regret that Bonde do Role have had to cancel their Australian tour. The band will no longer be continuing with the same format, and remaining members Pedro and Gorky are currently working hard to recruit a new member. Bonde do Role have had an incredible year and have been through some unforgettable experiences together, and still remain friends.

Bonde Do Role’s With Lasers is near the top of my Best of 07 list — and what better way to celebrate than with remixes! I love remixes. You love remixes. We all love remixes. And. Like an open invite, Bonde Do Role has had their fair share of both official and unofficial remixes.

Brazil meets Brazil: CRSTBL keeps “Solta O Frango” straight up party — this is certainly more club friendly than the original. And I love that the shouting-from-the-crowd elements of the vocals are kept… perfect.

This is the second Bonde Do Role remix we’ve posted from Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya. BBYYY takes “Solta o Frango” in a totally different direction than CRSTBL… not really for the dance floors, this mix gets worked up into craziness. Towards the middle it sounds like you’ve tuned in all the radio stations at once. Or it reminds me of the boat ride through the tunnel in the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory movie.

I think we’ve posted this Curtis Vodka remix before — perhaps the first time we posted Bonde Do Role many moons ago. Still, this ranks up there as a favorite and translates their live show to recording well. Though, the Salt N Pepa elements are sooo timeless that this would work no matter what..

Brazil meets Brazil, again: Aw, CSS does no wrong — as if robots took over for Bonde Do Role — annnnd the humor is not lost in the language. CSS caries the joke through. Overall a nice little disco approach to the original.

Disco Dust posted up this Fake Blood remix a few days ago. This mix is about as whacky as the original, if not more so. It doesn’t do much for me until about half way through when it kinda picks it up, but I know some of ya’ll are crazy for Fake Blood so here it is again…

Regardless. Whoever they are doesn’t matter. They’re creating some bootleg mixes that are to die for. And their track “Fuck Friend” is totally catch. “Fuck Friend” falls in the same fake pop category of say… the Teenagers. Devilish lyrics mixed with some damn catchy music… this track is going to get lots of spins. Look for remixes by CSS, Bonde Do Role, Mr Flash and Brodinski.

BBYYY’s remix of “Office Boy” is pretty banging. Totally raw and edgy, but it still maintains the catchy appeal of the original track and propels it forward. Good stuff.

Brazil taking over. The video for “Solta O Frango” doesn’t quite capture the intensity of their live show, but it is one of the better videos to land in our inbox in a long time. Fake chicken fights are super.

Bonde Do Role’s With Lasers seems like it should’ve been out a long, long time ago. Dropping soonish on Domino, you can buy With Lasers today on pre-release from iTunes.
