All us gluttonous Americans are spending the day indulging ourselves in turkey and pumpkin pie pondering what we have to be thankful for. Well, I’m thankful for sweet potatoes and thankful I got sent this remix of a Rival Joustas track by Blamma! Blamma! today to bring me out of my tryptophan-induced food coma. For all the haters from our last Blamma! Blamma! post, how about you guys give them a second chance? I think this track (self-described as a hypotic groover) shows their progression with where electronic music seems to be shifting, while throwing in vocals at the end reminiscent of old Black Sabbath.

Ok, enough musical analysis….gotta go deep fry the turkey! Feast your ears on this…

Rival Joustas – Clarity (Blamma! Blamma! Clear As Mud mix)

I’m usually a pretty tough critic on remixes of the Scanners. They’re one band I don’t want to hear people fucking with. But Blamma! Blamma! just dropped this remix, and it’s kinda exciting. Ok, it doesn’t do much for me until the vocals kick in… but then it takes off and mixed with the vocoder stuff it’s pretty damn good. Once the vocals drop out it kinda gets lost again — but I guess my complaints could get mixed out in the middle of a set. Definitely a nice break from all the obvious bangers…

Scanners – “Raw” (Blamma! Blamma! Scanner! mix) (mp3)

“Lowlife” is on my top ten all time favorite list. Anyway. LA Riots’ remix has been getting a lot of blog play. This remix is pretty straight forward… but it does the original proud by not getting too far off the path. Of course the original is the most perfect song ever and you could play it backwards and it’d still be good. So it’d be tough to fuck this one up… but still. Good stuff:

The combination is a deadly prescription. “Carry Me Home” is almost two years old now, but it still sounds so fucking fresh. Or maybe I’m just played out. I dunno. Anyway, if you want people to take their shirts off then you now know what to do. In all its 320 kbps greatness:

And the Blamma! Blamma! remix of Blood Red Shoes was getting a shit load of blog love a few months ago. It’s still at the top of my playlists — as it should be on yours.
