Sorry for the intermission! Been hectic over here. In light of the amazing news that Pulp is coming to the states we present one of my favorite videos to my absolute favorite band of all time.

One of my favorite bands get’s covered in gravy by :Papercutz. Really into this cover and reminds me of the days and days and days I would spend locked up in my room listening to The Cure in the ’90s. Thank goth I didn’t take it too seriously.
Super cute video and song from Spanish band CatPeople. Age isn’t anything but a number.
I haven’t DJ’ed San Diego in a good bit and I’m ready to get you guys dancing. I’m excited I get to play with one of my favorite DJ’s from San Francisco, we haven’t played together in at least two years, and it’s been way too long. Hope to see you out!
Singapur from Argentina are making me miss my great friends from my travels down in Buenos Aires. Still to this date one of my favorite cities and experiences in the world and some of the most talented and fun people around. With Singapur my love grows stronger. It is very refreshing to hear such a cute synth based band embrace their native tongue. Synth pop with a mature sound and romantic lyrics will do it for me any day. Check out the rest of their album ‘Holograma’, and check out their acoustic videos through the site too, really beautiful and refreshing.
To those non believers that this sound is coming back. Can’t find much about this project besides that Air’s own Jean-Benoit and Lou Hayter from New Young Pony Club are the team behind this, but I guess we will find out soon. Full length? Yes please.
The song “So Long My Love” is on the soon to be released compilation ‘Kitsuné Parisien II’, get this when it is out, it is good all the way through and will introduce you to lots of up and coming talent from France. Here’s a little teaser mix, “So Long My Love” is the first track.
Was late in the game on this one, but was just introduced to this ghoul named Dani Shivers from Tijuana. Sickness.
Hook & the Twin are releasing an album next year, but they’re already on their second single above, titled “We’re So Light”. The song is a synth painted landscape infected with heavenly chanting, and it really fits our mood for 2011. We are really looking forward to the full length this year, can we pick best of 2012 already? Check out the video to “Tribes”, absolutely love the video, a really cool edit of some awesome movies.
We were recently chosen as ‘Blog of the Week’ and asked by Dance Dance Dance to the Radio from London to pick our song of the week for their radio show, and we couldn’t refuse. They hired a Rchrd Oh impersonator to fill in for me, but I like to pretend I have that lovely british accent as well. The show really compliments our music style and sense of humor, you should check them out. You can subscribe to their Podcast here.
If you can’t tell everyone I post is my “favorite”, but I truly mean it with Jensen Sportag. These guys really know how to set the mood, they must truly be making love while they write cause I don’t know how so much sensuality can ooze out of anyones pores. 80′s New Romanticism and 90′s R&B had a lovechild and they named it Jensen Sportag.
They completely worked magic with Madi Diaz, her voice really shines and pierces the soul. These Tennessee lovers are going to be big, their promising original work and remixes have captured the hearts of BigStereo and are soon to be accessible at local night stands, next to the lube and the condoms. Make sure to check out some more work on their Soundcloud.
Beautiful new video and song from Clubfeet. Been a while since we’ve posted from them, but they’re still doing their thing, and we’re still loving it.
Miles Kane released one of my top ten records of the year, ‘Colour of the Trap’. Might be a big surprise to most of you considering we didn’t talk about it much and the US really kind of had this fly over their heads. Miles has a great voice and did a great job with The Rascals and The Last of the Shadow Puppets, both must haves by the way. ‘Colour of the Trap’ throws in the 60′s pop, some glam a la Bolan, and some James Bond theme style drums and guitars. A good album the whole way through.
He is going to be doing the headlining thing in the UK next April, so bummed no US dates yet, but check him out if you’re in the motherland.

This album has been playing nonstop since its limited release. Get your hands on it if you don’t have it yet. Don’t be ashamed to vogue.
A few months old, might be too old for you(fuck, how annoying are you?). Really into this tonight.
You wanted something really out there, really extraterrestrial? Well you got it. Mwahaha just released their self titled full length album and it’s nothing short of insane and perfectly trippy. So many sounds, so many influences, so all over the place yet brought together. You can hear a little bit of Grandaddy, Talking Heads, TV on the Radio, Spiritualized, Matthew Dear, and the list goes on and on. You really have to hear it yourself to believe it. Synths, drums, electric guitars, and out this world vocals got me hooked at first listen, track one, track two, track three came along and I wasn’t gonna hit skip. Listen to “Swimmer”, listen to “We Build”, listen to the whole damn album, I can’t fucking pick.
These guys are from Oakland and they take me back to a time when music didn’t give a flying fuck about what was in or out, a time when experimenting and combining new and old sounds made your heart and ears throb. Play loud, take lots of drugs, do what you have to do…Mwahaha is coming to get you. Enjoy and give in!
This is going to be so much fun and free!
Hosted bar from 9-10pm if you RSVP at this link for free entry at Facebook Event Page.
