Our good friends Fare Soldi are finally coming to the US. Fortunately for me they have Southern California dates, unfortunately for everyone else they are just that. Tahiti Boy and the Palmtree Family are one of those recent bands that I’ve been playing a lot of lately that makes me nostalgic and warm and cuddly inside. As you maybe have noticed 2009-2010 have been very non-electro and more traditional fuzz pop for me. These guys have it down with the whistles, flutes, guitar, and piano. Reminds me how much I look forward to the spring, only one more week!

Bonjay is on my top ten list of artists to check at SXSW this year. Luckily I won’t have to go far as they’re playing our party. Not sure Bonjay really falls into any specific genre — most descriptions use lots of hyphens to bridge together a hybrid of styles. But that’s what we like here.

“Gimmee Gimmee” is the title track off their first EP and is so catchy it will be on your lips for months to come. Guaranteed.

Alright, so here’s the deal. Kid Sister has a new track – “Daydreaming” – dropping on April 19th. Nice little track, no complaints. However, the part of the release that people are getting crazy excited for is the Style of Eye remix. No huge surprise: Style of Eye is a big name, and the remix is massive. However, my favorite effort off the release has to be the Douster remix. It’s got a big time club vibe, but there are epic pop waves as well. This effort is truly top-notch – it’s got it all. In between studying law, STA has sent over this nice little edit of Leonard Cohen. Not much too much of a deviation from the original but definitely has added some damn fat drums. Bringing Leonard Cohen to the club!

Another new JOCKS remix — this time in the form of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool. I’m pretty sure this dude can do no wrong and a nice welcoming tease of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool’s new single. A nice stuttery remix that doesn’t rely on the catchiness of the original chorus, but rather creates it’s own catchiness. A decent way to start the week.

JOCKS takes a fresh approach to Baby Monster’s “She Comes Alive” switching around entire parts of the song and giving it more of an electronic edge. Totally magical.
