Crystal Fighters + French Fries

Gotta be honest straight out the gate: Crystal Fighters is one of my favorite bands today. Perhaps top three. And some more honesty: I can’t say I appreciate French Fries. So I am entirely torn about French Fries remixing Crystal Fighters and being totally objective is about impossible. Biggest fear is that French Fries remix of “In The Summer” would come off as “too” club, but he manages to ride a fine line by keeping it club but also maintaining something a bit more interesting. It does grow tedious though… waiting six minutes for a solid vocal drop that never manifests instead of “oohs” and “aahs” is mind numbing and, quite frankly, boring. But it’s pretty hard to screw up Crystal Fighters and French Fries delivers.
