“Low Life” by Scanners was pretty much my favorite tune of 2006. The good news is Scanners new tune “Salvation” sounds a lot like “Low Life.” The bad news is “Salvation” sounds a lot like “Low Life.” Not too much evolution in the past four years in sound or subject, but they deliver with such conviction it comes off legit. “Salvation” might never quite reach the emotional heights of “Low Life” but it is the welcoming return of a very loved band.

Scanners – “Salvation”

The single is out today with remixes from Tittsworth, Don Diablo, Dan Sena & Dirty Disco Youth. This is one of those rare bands remixers should keep their dirty hands off of but the Aoki machine is behind this one. Purchase at iTunes.

hmm, this tune actually sounded very little like lowlife to me, until possibly the last 10 seconds. i loved lowlife as well, and i've been anxious for new material from scanners. it's definitely love at first listen with 'salvation'…but if i'd heard it randomly, i wouldn't have immediately thought 'oh, that must be scanners…'
