The entire “mystery band” phenomenon may be getting a bit old to us mortals, but it will never seems to get old to bands — so enter this week’s new “mystery band” Feathers. If I were to take a wild guess I’d say it’s Butterfly Bones but that’s like me throwing a dart at a [...]

For those of you in LA and out of the turkey-coma, get your butts over to beautiful Wiltern where Steed Lord will be putting on an amazing performance. I don’t need to tell you much about our beloved Icelandic’s, whom we just premiered Russ Chimes’ remix of “Remember Me” . Now we have Steed Lord’s [...]

We Have Band are offering up their new single “Honey Trap” for free download on their website. No excuses, go and grab it. We have the premiere of the Le Matos remix which gives the original a dark & driving dance makeover. Sounds like hundreds of flashing pinpoint lights in the darkest dark room. Line [...]

Silver Columns remixes Silver Columns! “Yes and Dance” is Silver Columns new single due out in December… not quite sure what to expect from the original but this remix is about as far away as you can get from “Brow Beaten”, like other planet far away. Very curious… [Audio clip: view full post to listen] [...]

Been anxiously waiting & waiting for new Zebra & Snake ever since they stepped out this past spring. While we don’t have a new original track to share, we do have a new remix they did for Le Corps Mince de Françoise’s new single “Something Golden” which will be out shortly on Kitsuné. This a [...]

Headman’s collab with Yello’s Dieter Meir isn’t a secret, and you certainly get something great when two tough electronic heads get together. I love that vocal gimme gimme gimme more. You can check it all out on Relish. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Headman feat. Dieter Meier – “Gimme” (In Flagranti Remix Blog [...]

Just the other day I was wondering out loud if Monarchy had any other tricks up their sleeve. And today they have delivered. “Black The Colour Of My Heart” is a bit darker, a bit moodier, a bit nerdier, a bit colder. Debut single due out on Neon Gold February 2010. [Audio clip: view full [...]

Kid Koala is a turntable master! He has been an all-time favorite of mine and has remained on my top list of performers to see, since I last saw him in 2003!!! His uncanny dj skills are a sight to see and hear. He really makes a turntable an instrument… you might have to see [...]

Acid Washed – “General Motors, Detroit, America” We posted the mp3 a couple weeks ago, but we now have the op art inspired video for Acid Washed’s “General Motors, Detroit, America.” Trippy.

The catalogue has been digitally re-mastered for the first time and each of the CDs is packaged with replicated original UK album art, including expanded booklets containing original and newly written liner notes and rare photos. I just got my ears to Irish trio Two Door Cinema Club’s “I Can Talk” and the remixes. The original has a load of energy and is high speed indie pop which the kids are going to love. The forthcoming “I Can Talk” remixes release features remixes by the likes of French Horn Rebellion, Crystal [...]

Lights perform some sorta fuzzed out disco ritual in their video for “Fire Night.” I wonder if they’re trying to summon Stevie Nicks through the use of magic and glitter. But whatever, “Fire Night” is all about vocal harmonies over fuzzed out guitar with one kick ass bassline. This might (might) be the best track [...]

Pablo Gomez aka GOZii is a fresh new producer from Buenos Aires, Argentina, my future home and BigStereo south office. He is the frontman of electro-rock band Polen and is now playing the solo game. GOZii is the last artist that became a member of LARESISFUCKEDUP CREW, a group of Djs, Vjs, producers, and photographers [...]

Ke$ha has been controversy ever since word spread. Being the highlight of much criticism for obvious Uffie rips and for being a young girl in the LA scene, she seems like she’d be having it tough. Her song “Tik Tok” though can be heard at various parties, and honestly frat jocks and horny girls can’t [...]

Luca C. & Brigante are the latest to make over Ali Love’s “Diminishing Returns” — we’ve been going gaga over this track for a while now and one more remix certainly is going to fuel our obsession. The interesting tidbit is Luca C. has helped pen some of Ali Love’s new album, so this is [...]

Give Is Tropical’s “When O’ When” a couple minutes to heat up… and then feel uncomfortable. This track heads in a few different direction but never loses its raw pop roots. Reminds me of a mix between Test Icicles and the Klaxons.

Australian label Future Classic is at is again…… Another great release for the 4th installment of the Apres series. Self penned as slow-mo disco and noughties house, Apres 4 gives you Mario Basanov’s track “Do You Remember?” and some remixes by some of the big names of nu disco/house including Downtown Party Network, 6th Borough [...]
