Calvin Harris has been working on his sophomore album – Ready for the Weekend – for quite some time now. And quite frankly, it’s ticking me off. Dude’s I Created Disco was remarkably on point, and thus expectations for the upcoming release are off the charts. Thank goodness August 17th has finally arrived. (See: I’m impatient.)

Luckily, Mr. Harris’s most recent single – the title track “Ready for the Weekend” – is a tune and a half that’s held me over for the past week or so (it dropped on August 8th). Yea, it’s super poppy. And yea, it may or may not be kinda cheesy. But oh my goodness, don’t even try to tell me that this jam’s not infectious beyond belief. And the girls in this video … oh wow, the girls.

And if you werent yet convinced that dear Calvin does in fact love beautiful women (see also: “I’m Not Alone” video, “The Girls,” etc.), be sure to check out his video showing his work with the first ever humanthesizer. (That would be a human synthesizer, for those of you struggling to keep up.) It’s two parts interesting, one part hilarious, and naturally three parts beautiful women.
