Well it took long enough, but the Gossip’s video for “Heavy Cross” finally had its debut. Kinda “just” a straight forward performance video plus some glitter. Certainly better than that fanboy video edit of Kenneth Anger’s “Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome” that was floating around a few months go…

Regardless, Music For Men does not disappoint. I cannot stop listening. Great pop album with so many wonderful pop music references it hurts… They lift stuff in this album and make it their own in such a special way. It’s better than sampling. A bit overproduced and Ditto doesn’t lose her shit enough but what should we expect at this point?

1. oh I second that sad lack of shitloosing on dittos side. she sounds smooth like an r’n'b-singer, what is wrong with these sony people, that woman has probably the widest vocal range of any of todays ‘rock’ singers and they waste it on that?

   hell where are these CDs from the past, first the yeah yeah yeahs leave their garage and now that, is it some contractual requirement to disengange your fanbase when getting down with a major?

   • the songs are good — the problem with the song is that anyone can sing them… dittos voice is never shown off. there’s nothing “special”. “8th wonder” is really the only gossip sounding song. but even so, an enjoyable album. would probably love it more if it wasn’t the gossip.
