Major Lazer

I spent the vast majority of my SXSW looking forward to catching Major Lazer (a.k.a. Diplo + Switch + a million other cats) at the Fader Fort. Granted I was in it more for the swag than the tunes, but still – point is that I was more than ready when the lads finally took the stage.

And though the stronger, quicker, and taller members of the crowd emerged victors in the struggle for Major Lazer tees, the free alcohol and huge tunes left everyone feeling like a winner. The speakers were loud enough to shake my head; luckily, the jams were good enough that I didn’t care about the terrible, irreparable damage I did to my ears and brain that day. “Hold the Line” is a taste of great things to come. The album drops June 16th. Get ready.
