Marina & The Diamonds

If Little Boots and La Roux represent opposite ends of a spectrum then Marina & The Diamonds falls somewhere safely in the middle. There’s a quirkiness that Marina shares with La Roux but relaxes on some serious songwriting akin to Little Boots — all three share some solid pop sensibilities. Yeah, comparing apples and oranges and pears but the triad represents a new wave of women singer/songwriters that is refreshing and strong and wonderful. And all three craft songs that will be stuck on repeat for the next twelve months, at least.
