I dunno, maybe it’s the grating off-key falsetto harmonies or the use of backing tracks that sound like they were scraped off of Chromeo’s cutting room floor. The only reason why Metronomy has any following whatsoever is because NME picked their name out of a hat and threw all of their support behind them (in an effort to look like they have any idea what’s going on with music these days). All of Metronomy’s songs are garbage, and something tells me it’s only the first crack in the levees before electronic music turns back into the cesspool that it became at the turn of the decade.
A) the NME never really got behind Metronomy. they reviewed them, and that’s about it.
B) Metronomy’s following is purely based on merit, due to the band’s originality and inventiveness.
C) if the “cesspool” of electronic music consists of interesting and atypical bands with an intelligent bent and a brilliant sense of humour, then I look forward to wallowing in the effluence, splashing the fetid muck between my thighs in scatalogical bliss.
This was my favourite song from the album from the very begining, is such a good song. Same as the whole album. Its been long time since i dont discover a band that make me listen to it many times… Chromeo? its ok, original, but took me a few to get bored of it
i was at a slumber party last night. god, my head still hurts, and not from drinking and other excesses, as usual, but from a game we invented: we cut metromony lirics out of paper, held them in front of us, and bounced a ball on our heads. it seemed like fun at the start, but then things got out of control: a tall guy hurt his testicles, we broke some maya art, and some of us got concussions, amnesia, and other brain damages. i escaped, but some of my friends got stuck there, and i`m afaid of their lives. maybe some balls are still bouncing on their dead bodies…
The track is awful, but the video is kinda funny.

How is the track awful? This album is definitely my album of the year. It’s all pretty amazing and the video is just icing on the cake

HAHA.
Seriously though, this track has grown on me. I hated it when I first heard it.
