Clubfeet

Clubfeet’s Gold on Gold is perhaps one of the best albums out of Australia in the past six months. Easily. And it’s refreshing in that it’s not a total Modular derivative. Clubfeet’s LP is drenched in so many smart pop choices throughout the entire album that you quickly forget that this is a debut.

“Teenage Suicide” is an odd track — kinda catchy. Besides the obvert message, I didn’t totally get the track out of context from the album, but listening to Gold on Gold from start to finish it falls into place nicely:

Clubfeet – “Teenage Suicide”

You will love this album. Promise.

Gold on Gold is out now on Plant Music — pick it up wherever you like to buy records/mp3s/whatevers or at iTunes. Oh, and if you’re doing the a la carte track purchase thing then make sure to check out “D.I.E.yuppiescum” — love the nod to The Teenagers.

  1. This song references the movie, “Heathers.”

In Heathers, Big Fun is a crappy europop band, with a hit song called… (drumroll)

    “Teenage Suicide (Don’t Do It).”

If you haven’t seen “Heathers” do yourself a favour and see it.

  2. Clubfeet is an awesome band. And Gold on Gold is indeed a very good album. I am not quite familiar .. actually not at all .. with recent music from Australia but as for what I listen is a really great album! Who hasn’t heard of Clubfeet is … i won’t say it … but you should check them out! I’me sure once you listen to a few songs, you’ll listen all of them! Pull it together for Clubfeet!

  3. Of all the great songs off ‘Gold on Gold’ why would you choose ‘Teenage Suicide’? This song is weaker than Brittney Spears comeback. This is the first time that Bigstereo has dissapointed.

  4. this song made me excited in the pants… and helped me through some dark times haha
