When we first posted about MIT a couple years ago, they were making quick, brash electro-punk tracks that might’ve been discarded as neu rave or something entirely else. I dug the synth/hard aesthetic but wanted something a little more evolved from the trio. Well with their first full length Coda my desires were met. There’s still a certain amount of angst (maybe that’s the “harshness” of the German to a non-German speaker), but it’s met with some layered, more complex melodies that throw some hidden hooks. Whereas “Goodbooks” and “Was War Es” might’ve started riots, the songs from Coda are built for a journey rather than a blitz. Must have:
