Le Castle Vania

le castle vania zero

If I were to make a top ten list of my favorite Smashing Pumpkins songs “Zero” would be at the top… which might be one reason I fell instantly in love with Le Castle Vania’s “Zero Machine.” It’s kinda obvious this track samples the Pumkins song pretty heavily — right down to the “Wanna go for a ride”…

This might by LCV’s strongest track to date — or at the very least his catchiest since that Snowden remix. But its success doesn’t rely solely on the fact that it borrows a recognizable riff. LCV is ushering back in some much needed heavy guitar into dance music. And with that the guitar ends up taking a life of it’s own as it travels through the time tested banger formula creating a sound that is both familiar and fresh… mangled and bruised:

Le Castle Vania - “Zero Machine”

And of course, if you haven’t heard — Le Castle Vania has been busy with his own label Always Never Entertainment. Check out the tunes there.

AND SF PEOPLE: Le Castle Vania is playing INFATUATION next week. Be there.
