Big Gipp + Treasure Fingers
17 September 2008 :: posted by Travis
Scion A/V (Car company? Record Label? Who cares?) has been putting out some pretty hot remixes as of late — the latest for Big Gipp with remixes by Treasure Fingers, Klever, and Rob Wonder. You know we never shy away from Treasure Fingers so when this one popped into our inbox from our friends at Your Army we had to jump. Treasure Fingers works his magic fingers creating some straight up party disco with hints of hip-hop.

And a nice song, with a catchy riff.

Soul funky, nice and cheezy, but so daym DISCO! It will tear any club up for sure. No matter the age, race, size, or shape!

“Car company? Record Label? Who cares?”
Uhh…
People who actually give a fuck about art and don’t want their music to be a lame billboard for car companies and other potentially bullshit corporations.
If other corporations take Scions lead, we may be listening to the Bank Of America - Wendy’s Baconator - Apple Computers podcast MSTRKRFT mix presented by Ford Motors sooner than you think…

i understand where you’re coming from —
but artists have to eat and if putting a record out on scion pays their bills and allows them to be creative without burning out at a desk then so be it. i’d rather be listening to a “Bank Of America - Wendy’s Baconator - Apple Computers podcast” then wondering “whatever happened to so an so.”
corporations suck, blah blah blah — but it’s the culture we live in and until there’s a shake up from the bottom up it’s the way it’s going to be…
the good news? scion has proven they can put out quality music with quality remixes.

This i$ht is as its name would imply and to the person complaining about corporatism: One day, when you grow up and have bills to pay on your own with your own money, then your ideals may evolve to include room for sustainability. Despite what you may think, Scion actually does a legit job producing these joints. Not all of us have six-figure+ trust funds to finance our artistic pursuits and stay holier than thou all the while.
