We Have Band has been sitting in my draft folder for a while now… but then I saw they had a track on Kitsune Maison 6 (SIX!), and I was like “I better get my lazy ass in gear.”

We’ve heard We Have Band before — a million times before and in a million different ways. Not necessarily a bad thing, no. No because the ideas being explored are fresh… it doesn’t sound like your throw back new wave band that is just rehashing the same sounds and textures of the 80’s or whatever. It’s moving the sound forward… in a direction that is progressive. Like if New Wave never died.

Speaking of Kitsune Maison 6 — they’re calling it the “melodic one” which I guess is something everybody has been feeling lately — a need for melody. Seems like they’ve gotten their magic back after the underwhelming 5 because 6 is one of Kitsune’s better compilations.
