The Verve + ROKR

The Verve + ROKR

Here’s Maurice from Vapors reviewing the new Motorola ROKR and don’t forget to check him out in the latest issue of Vapors magazine (pages 24, 53 and 131).

The term “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” should be a song title on The Verve’s latest album, Forth, because in all honestly nothing has really changed all that much since the last one. I’m not saying Forth is not worth the listen, on the contrary, if you¹re a fan of the chaps from Manchester, than you will no doubt be in glee of the familiar rifts, bass lines and vocals. From the opening somber mood of “Appalachian Springs” to the upbeat ”Love Is Noise” to the ender “Valium Skies” this is definitely an album made for an already established fan base. Some standouts include “Columbo”, “Love Is Noise” and “Noise Epic’ (even though it reminded me of some 80′s U2). But the coolest part about this album is how it was presented to the editorial types. The entire album arrived pre-downloaded on the new Motorola ROKR accompanied by a JBL Bluetooth portable speaker – very nice indeed. If The Verve moved you the last three outings the Forth picks up right where the trip last ended.
