Triobelisk

1 September 2008 :: posted by Travis

Over the past few months Triobelisk has become a favorite. From his remixes of Yelle and Sunny Day Sets Fire to his Zoneplex EP — been playing his stuff pretty much non-stop. Good news! Triobelsik has a new ep in the works titled 1 that will be released on Swedish Columbia sometime soon.

The music, the art… it all is part of something larger, maybe even mythic proportions. It seems like a story is slowly being unraveled through each release. Hints of futuristic Mayan beings… or something. After 1, Triobelisk promises one more EP release before the release of his full length by December 21, 2012. For real. Anyway, hopefully with each release we’ll get more of the story… for now here is “Xrystal Eye” from 1:

The cover art, by Sakke Soini (make sure you check out his Electronicats), is beautiful. Totally in love with it. Unfortunately, it had to shrunk down to fit in the post and lost some detail. Click to check it out in full detail. It kinda reminds me of the land that we witness when Sigourney Weaver opens the fridge in Ghostbusters.

  4. It’s hard to discern between “ripping off” and “inspired by” these days, given the accelerated cycles of influence, but a dope track and another good look from Big Stereo. Hope to see these guys come through SF sometime soon.

  5. Thanks! Your site is AMAZING! Among the best things I’ve seen in a long time! One of the bestthings that happened to me lately!
    Long live BIGSTEREO!
