Contest: UNKLE

22 July 2008 :: posted by Melissa

FREE STUFF!!! I love free stuff and the lovely people at Cornerstone love to give it. We have 4 vinyl copies of UNKLE’s new album “End Titles… Stories for Film” as well as 4 CDs which come in a limited edition packaging that is only available in the US thru UNKLE’s site.

To win sign up for our monthly newsletter at our special low rate of $39.99 or, in spirit of their X-Files theme song, just tell us a scary story. I’ll pick the two best scary stories for the prize of 1 vinyl and 1 CD. I’ll give the remaining prizes at random.

Don’t forget to provide your email address so I can contact you, just enter it in the slot that says “Mail” when posting a comment and it won’t be published. I’ll contact the winner by Wednesday, August 6th.

FYI, the album is digitally available thru iTunes

  5. Mary used to get the feeling that there was something strange about her house. She first felt that feeling when they moved in, she was about 12. She convinced herself it was all in her mind and that it was just the feeling of being in a new home, the unfamiliarity. She tried to make herself feel comfortable there.

    After a week in her home she was finally able to relax. She had no siblings, so she had to make due with the hundreds of plush toys her parents had bought her over the years.

    One night, she felt as though she had just dosed off. She could still feel the tingling in her arms and legs as though she had been sinking into her bed entering REM sleep. Suddenly, she felt an intense pressure on her chest. She couldn’t breathe and it startled her. She quickly opened her eyes.

    In a blur she could see a greyish face staring back at her. Shadows surrounding the room. She was terrified and tried to move out of the creatures way. She felt pinned to the bed. Arms unable to move, legs unable to kick. She could barely keep her eyes wide open and it was difficult to distinguish facial characteristics on the creature.
    “The Hag”

    She felt as though her life was being pulled out of her, through a hole in her chest. She felt her arms swing at the creature. She felt herself run. But then she looked down and her arms remained pinned to the bed.

    Finally she was able to wiggle her fingers in one hand and lift her arm. She began to swing at the creature but her fist felt as though she was moving through water. As she swung the creature disappeared and she could see clearly.

    Terrified, she turned on the light and looked around the room.

    Nothing.

    She was alone.

    She turned to the clock: 3:15. Would it happen again?

  6. oops,
