Little Pictures album “Owl + Owl” has been getting much love in my stereo the past week. Perfect DIY pop that reminds me a bit of the Blow or Tender Forever. One of those rare albums that I could post anything from… all the tracks are real gems.
“I Wish I Could Keep You” makes me think of someone special which makes this song ten times better than it actually is… which is not saying the song is bad of course, but rather when you tie a song to a person it becomes specific and dimensional in a way it wasn’t before. Or something.

We posted the video to “This House Can Fit Us All” a little while ago (check it out if you haven’t already). Shaun Slaughter on IHEARTCOMIX says this song will be huge of “Young Folks” proportions — while I’m not good at making predictions, I do agree there is the potential for this song to be epic. It’s cute, simple, youthful and carefree… definitely a winning formula. With the correct trendy film/tv show/commercial push this song could reach the level of “Such Great Heights”…

sounds like shaun slaughter is a fucking idiot.
i think the only thing epic about this song is the .568 seconds it will take people to forget it even exists and the sickening feeling of being robbed of two and a half minutes that they will NEVER get back.

“This house” is a very simple track. It’s almost silly that it is so simple. It could become a big “itunes” hit, but without a big commercial push I doubt it will be bigger than the blog circuit or whatever you call this type of press?

I really like this band, they are so nice and fun that is impossible for me not to wish a lot of luck for them.

I think these songs definitely have a market. I know plenty of people that listen to this genre. I think as said above, with some marketing, it has quite some potential.

Gotta agree that I can’t see this being as big as Young Folks. It’s catchy and I can see a lot of people liking it, but can’t see it breaking through any further. I almost hope it doesn’t, too. After the backlash in the UK against the Ting Tings for being too simple and poppy, I dread to think what people would say about this.
