Purple Crush – “Shopping on the Dance Floor” (YouTube)
“Shopping” was heard on Purple Crush’s “Welcome 2 Emo-Club” ep last year… well now the track has gotten the video and remix treatment from AC Slater, Mike Genius, Krames and Shir Khan. Rad. This song is so easy to like… such a sing a long and easy fav.
Mike Genius is the first artist on Purple Crush’s label Crushed (besides Purple Crush, of course). We think his remix is swell:

Pssh, urban fabric, this song wouldn’t be “boring” if you’d ever seen the way Isla moves. At a live show, that is. Not that she doesn’t look grrrrrreat in the video.
There’s a certain sound in the Mike Genius remix that makes it difficult for me to listen to. No disrespect though! I look forward to hearing more from him.

funny thing is, i dont see anything 80s throwback about that video, more like an ad for american apparel and 10 deep…..not saying im not stuck in the 80s, according to itsthemoneyshot im a one woman 80s party…http://itisthemoneyshot.blogspot.com/
im so glad that it has been fully appreciated that cobra kai’s nick the duke is our video ho….a star is born.
jjs, thanks for your kind and honest words…that is the first remix genius has EVER done, so def expect more awesomeness as he goes on this ride….a little back story…genius and purple crush all met when we were teenagers at art school. he was a jazz bass player, who then turned to dark drum n bass. when he moved to NY he joined us and was a part of purple crush for its first year….but, being in a band with a couple is rough, so he quit and went on to form numerous punk rock bands….he came to us two months ago wanting to return to electronic music…..let the genius begin.

aa clothes are 80s inspired, youd be blind not to see it; but this vid looks a little cheap, like they were dancing in front of a green screen with montage of party pics; but the chic has a nice butt, and thats all that matters

“the chic has a nice butt”
criteria for ALL future posts.

I’m siding with urban fabric here…
Repetitive, generic music has me fatigued.
