Charlie Why!

Charlie Why!

Seventeen year old Charlie Why! should probably be hanging out at a chocolate factory with Willy Wonka. But instead he is mucking around on Logic 8 making experimental tunes which remind me of Jackson and His Computer Band (all hail jackson). I spoke with Charlie the other night and he reckons he has some more tunes which are so new they’re not even on his myspace yet…….. I’m swapping my golden ticket for them.

man i am sick of seeing poeple useold pixelated arcade graphics for their artwork….

also that kick drum in "fall out" sounds awfully like the one in an Oizo track on the Steak soundtrack…

Sounding pretty good though for a whippersnipper.

  • Computermusic

i like the tunes, specially for a 17 year old.

keep on working, you could go places!

I like it but the vocals are kinda weak. I think Jamie Grindhouse is still a better, younger talent.

    Like to hear others.

I also agree with Anonymous on this one, the kick drum in “fall out” does sound awfully like the one in an Oizo track on the Steak soundtrack.

Still got a long way to go young lad.

"Fall out" does indeed have the same exact drum kick & beat from the Steak OST. :-( uncool.

  • WHY!

its not the same exact kick as the steak soundtrack. i got the kick from VIP zone dragged it in too logic compressed it, EQ'd it and added reverb then bounced it out of logic then re imported it into logic again and chopped it up again to cut the long tail of reverb off then compressed it again. i just like the sound of that particular track and wanted to see if i could do it. sounds like it worked.

    CHARLIE.

  • Randomdude

Yes it does seem like it worked.

If by worked you mean sounded exactly the same as the steak OST.

    Good Job.

  • techno dave

little friendly advice fellow producer….zoom in on those sample's dood….and ebolish the "clicks" at the end of them. Cause on a club system, "are my speakers gonna clip" feelin' is not on. Other than that……slammin bro.
