CFCF

CFCF

I’ve been totally in love with CFCF since that HEALTH remix first started being passed around six months or so ago. Something so classic and almost easy — a refreshing break from all the tireless nu rave, blog house, glitch house (or whatever we’re calling it this week) bangers that clog the airwaves. This is a new wave of midnight radio: dark nights and long drives, first loves and sweaty summers…

Midnight Star – “Midas Touch” (CFCF Remix) (mp3)

CFCF manages a cover that doesn’t feel like a cover… In all its 320kbps goodness:

CFCF – “How Bizarre” (mp3)

And for prosperity sake. Sounds like it could be on Italians Do It Better or something — eery and refreshing. When I first heard this I thought I loved HEALTH but I was wrong. My ears belong to CFCF:

  1. interresting “How Bizarre”… some cover of OMC?

  2. refreshing is a good word for it. that health track, especially… interesting how all three tracks not only mimic the instrumentation and production of a former era, but also the fidelity. like it was smashed into tape or something….

  3. that picture is deceiving because he can’t mix for shit
i really love the hearts revolution remix (on his myspace) though

  4. Al – I’m pretty sure CFCF is more than aware of his boundries as a DJ. It’s just not his primary focus. Dance Dance Dance is all about fun and lack of pretention – mixing is the last concern of anybody who plays there.

  5. That OMC cover must be transcoded. Doesn’t sound like 320kbps at all.

  6. Picture by me.
    Enjoy.

  7. Dance Dance Dance was fun when I lived in Montreal definitely not pretentious about mixing at all just kids getting drunk in mile end having a good time.

  8. CFCF! we’re all over CFCF & his remixes…

  9. i love the how bizarre track! Who cares if he can’t mix. If i heard this at a party I would to busy dancing to notice.
