PNAU BABY

PNAU has sorta been Australia’s hot little secret for a few years now, but with their latest self-titled album, taking over the world is only a matter of time.

Even without the children’s chorus (which will unfortunately/fortunately be compared to “D.A.N.C.E.”), “Baby” is one of those rare songs that you can jam out with while hanging out with your four year old niece and not be all embarrassed. There is so much potential for universal love here — it almost hurts.

Ha! I think PNAU will have a LOT of competition in the “Most Blogged About Band of 2008″ category.

One example: Lykke Li is 31 posts deep in the past two months. Not that she’s a band, but girl is BLOWING up.

PNAU was my gateway drug into electronica when I was studying abroad in Sydney in 2000, right when “Sambanova” dropped, which is truly a filter/disco house masterpiece. Their second album “Again” has some real gems on it to. These guys are on my desert island roster for sure.

Their live show is something else too, any other electronic acts should sit up and take notice. Having people dancing around in various fruits and critters makes for one hell of an entertaining show.

yeaaaah! thanks for the tunes. i’ve only started listening to Pnau recently and i realised i’ve been missing out. the first time i heard them was on Kitsune compilation… they’re really cool.
