Das Pop rules!!
January 12th, 2008 at 3.00 pm
this is really quite awesome, the more I listen to it the more I like it =)
January 12th, 2008 at 4.23 pm
i agree, FUCK FABRIC.. this mix is sick.
im wondering if they rejected it because its not a typical mix with their own tracks, mstrkrft, digitalism, etc
January 12th, 2008 at 4.56 pm
eh, the mix is ok . nothin special really atleast symbolone made it.
January 13th, 2008 at 3.22 am
if you didn’t grow up on 80s french anime you might not get it. which sucks for you because it’s genius. fucking genius.
January 13th, 2008 at 4.52 am
According to Wikipedia, this is a Fabriclive mix not to be released until June 2008.

THE SPARKS! THE SPARKS!
January 13th, 2008 at 3.15 pm
Maybe the rejection has more to do with licensing than it does to do with content? Fabric are generally fairly open minded musically.
January 13th, 2008 at 5.20 pm
The very first Justice mix I heard opened with Sparks - This Town Ain’t Big Enough, it was hosted on AndDidWeMentionOurDisco, I think it’s still available as a podcast. That was back in December ‘05, I saw them DJ the weekend after - probably the best gig I was ever at.

thats so rad that they put the goblin track in there. righteous!
January 13th, 2008 at 7.35 pm
wow thats pretty unremarkable, very dissapointing mix
January 13th, 2008 at 10.18 pm
To all those HATERS out there. You r stupid. Why does every mix have to be so conventional for you? That’s just boring.
This is Rad. And as if Fabric rejected it, spank rock/james murphy mixs from them are SO random…….they’re loss i guess.
January 14th, 2008 at 10.35 am
Guys, you really serious about this mix?
It’s nothing much more than … average (to be gentle)
January 14th, 2008 at 11.34 am
it’s their influences ..and they’re great songs. it’s just too french for people . you like the distortion side of justice but looks like not the more important ingredients of its french sound.
Erhm, why don’t you post a link that shows us a mix is that is above average. and more importantly explain why it’s above average. weak comments with no explanation all based on personal preference

This is a great listen: it’s tasteful, well mixed…and FUCKING HYSTERICAL. I just about peed my pants when “Far From Over” came on. Though that might be because it made me think of Harry Shearer and Christopher Guest in a swimming pool, perfecting their synchronized swimming…”you’re not mad, you’re just pointing!”
January 14th, 2008 at 3.27 pm
There’s no way Fabric would have rejected it because it “didn’t sound like them.” I covered the LCD Soundsystem Fabric CD for URB which was absolutely insane and strangely interesting. These CDs are supposed to be an opportunity for the artist to explore everything that has influenced them over time. Who knows why Fabric rejected this particular mix. I dig most of it…though there are some pieces that make me tilt my head.

It will be a case of licensing, and perhaps not enough own productions thrown in for it to be as commercially viable as theyd like piggy backing off the success of recent
Saying that those that buy these CDs know what to expect..
But those that dont and want to but a Justice mix CD might be put off, unless theyre a real Justice fan that get this sorta tracklist..
January 15th, 2008 at 8.19 am
I heard it was rejected because it was too short - fabric mixes have to be 25 tracks, 70 minutes; this is only 45.
January 16th, 2008 at 2.36 pm
so this has nothing to do with the actual justice mix per se….but try hilarious still nonetheless. try playing from about 5:00 - 14:05 on the justice mix over about 38:27 - 47:50 of daft punk’s electroma. hey?
January 16th, 2008 at 3.42 pm
great media stunt!
we are all eating it like candy :P
January 21st, 2008 at 9.25 am
I love Justice. This is a great mix. It got ‘rejected’ by Fabric because there’s no dance music on there. Simple as that.
January 22nd, 2008 at 8.46 pm
I can’t stop listen it! =~

[...] part by Justice’s inclusion of a Sparks track on their infamously rejected-by-Fabric mix that made the rounds a few weeks ago, I’m reposting a classic Disco Sunday gem you may have missed the first time around. Think of [...]

they trainwreck all over the place. their dj skills are juvenile to say the least. If this is, in fact, a rejected mix it could be because they, as djs, dont cut it. As far as their production skills they are top notch but between their newest leaked track, and this mix which is trying way to hard to show their influences, they are slipping into the void.
January 30th, 2008 at 5.10 pm
there are no ‘trainwrecks’ on this mix - every mix is in time and fits well. this was not rejected for want of dj ability. it is simply the case that these tracks aren’t meant to be blended together like some sort of sasha ibiza house set. sorry if that’s what your used to.
also, the whole idea of the fabric series is to show influences and diversity, so this was not rejected for want of a 60 minute version of Waters of Nazareth.
February 20th, 2008 at 5.10 pm
Alright everyone just calm down. Fabric rejected the mix because it wasn’t long enough, and because it was, quoted from Fabric “not in tune with the sound that Fabric is known for”, and that’s about it. As far as Justice doing this to show off and plug their influences, why isn’t Michael Jackson in their? They always cite him as an influence, D.A.N.C.E. was written for MJ. These are just songs that they like, plain and simple. If you watch any footage of Justice they always sprinkle in a few tracks like these with the rest of the bangers. There’s nothing wrong with doing something different for a change, i’m sure they get board playing the same songs we’ve all heard a million times.
In addition, this mix is fuckin nasty. I love it more every time I hear it. Any comment otherwise has no grounds, full stop.

I LOVE IT
April 3rd, 2008 at 2.57 am
I love Justice, however, I wonder what they use for their DJ set? I saw them “live” in SF back in October, and their mix was too perfect. Try mixing “Everybody Dance” by Chic with something around the same BPM. It’s very very very difficult.

great mix sounding like an imaginary californian eighties radio playing old funky stuff.. the mixings beetween sparks/rondo , justice/chic and das pop/julien clerc are perfect ! it s the first time i m able to listen to this weak julien clerc song !
