The Touch

After the Swedish explosion a little while back things were a bit quiet from that corner of the earth….or perhaps it fell in the shadow of the French domination of the electronic music scene. Regardless, I was thrilled to stumble across The Touch thanks to referrals from two different friends from two different countries! That has to be a good sign when a band with not alot of press is making word-of-mouth waves all around the world.

They began on the circulating the club scene in Gothenburg, Sweden and really began grabbing attention when they played the Nöjesguidens (the magazine of ‘who’s who’ for people in the know in Sweden) party in 2007. They are having their record release party at the end of this month in Stockholm with DJ Assault (who has also remixed one of their tracks) and DJ Funk. The Touch are also preparing for a US tour and you know we’ll keep you posted about that….

After listening to both tracks I realized that they are terrible. I could not see myself dancing to either one. They just seem rather simple and generic.

No, I'll go with Douche here. Not too exciting. I wouldn't say terrible though.. However, their "Heart Of The City (Stuffa Remix)" at Fluokids is great!

Umm…referring to Nöjesguiden as a magazine for the people in the know is just…well plain wrong.

It's a free rag that you can pick up at any mall in Stockholm.

As for The Touch, I preffered the rmx

mahmoud: yeah, anywhere in Göteborg or Malmö/Lund too actually. but they like to think of themselves that way. on the other hand, that woud mean that there isn't a rag for people in the know in Sweden. which is of course entirely correct. all Swedes are in the know; it is at the same time the most enlightened and the most decadent country in the world.

Same with fashion I suppose. If everybody looks good, does anyone actually look good? But that's neither here nor there.

There is no exclusive medium for the upper-crusters to speak of here; blogs and Kobra on SVT have made certain of that.

Though I must admit that this is one of the reasons I love Sweden so.

Eh, these are not my favorites. Not because they seem generic or poorly produced as some have said…but I just feel like there isn't much movement to the tracks. Monotonous, I guess. I could pass on both of these…but an Assault mix? Yes, please!
