Metronomy

30 December 2007 :: posted by Rchrd Oh?!

This has been playing constantly on my computer, mostly because I’ve been too lazy to download it, but more for the reason that it’s so good and I can’t stop playing it. The EP was sent to me a few weeks back and I kind of didn’t post any of it thinking it would be all over the place but I have yet to see it, unless HypeMachine is not telling me something. The EP is plainly titled ‘5 album track(unmastered)’ obviously not what is going to be sold to the public. If this is just 5 unmastered songs to the most amazing album of 2008, I can’t imagine the final product.

Travis and I have been discussing recently how much we need more ‘real’ music on the site. Wamp wamps can only do so much really. I fell in love with Friendly Fires when he posted so this is my contribution.

Metronomy is gonna be big next year. The little hype here, little hype there thing is gonna add up. His last single “Radio Ladio” was intense. It isn’t on this EP which features five killer songs. It was really hard to pick one song to hook you onto, but I had to do it. The entire disc is packed with zelda, renaissance, post-punk, no wave dynamite.

Please Metronomy come play my block party.

    its good.

besides this, i’ve sent countless tracks, that are real,
like non ableton live real , like , roland juno 60 in my basement real, and there killer tracks. you bloggers shoudl step back and realize this ableton live generation is kinda killing it for real bands out there.

    and one more gripe ..

how and the fuck can people freak out about what justice is doing live? there just pressing play on a cd. productions great but that is not a DJ nor a band , and there mixes are shite ..

ok . tea time. enjoy. freak out on me as well.

    this track is so shitty.

I’m expecting big things from Metronomy this year as well. It will probably start off as a high profile remix (something like La Ritournelle but bigger). And then that will lead a track of theirs that just takes them to the next level.

My friends saw them last year and manage to score a signed copy of their debut for me. They put on a great show. Too bad Miami is too far for most bands to travel to.

I love a lot of the ideas in the track ..crazy ideas just how I like it. instruments are recorded cool..and I have enjoyed the remixes I have heard from metronomy… the drums remind me of “killing an arab” in a parallel universe.

yes, play less dance music. and bangers. but expect the readers in the USA to be a bunch of whiny pricks about it.

I agree less remixes and bangers! I love me some 4 on the floor as long as its varied. The french sound is killing music right now, so is the bridge and tunnel that is eating that shit up at the clubs but listening to hip-hop in their hybrids on the way in.

  6. Rchrd Oh?! Says:

yay jacob!!! unfortunately though its not just bridge and tunnel people driving hybrids though that eats that shit up, it’s all over. its kind of weird actually. everything like a good pair of jeans fades though, and i think its time to get a new pair.

  7. Johnny Douche Says:

Being a douchebag myself I am not sure what bridge and tunnel even means. But I am all for the spread of dance music to anyone and everyone, I long for the day that hiphop is the minority in American clubs, I’ll take whoever we can get. On another note I do hate Marina motherfuckers and bands, unless they’re remixed.

    hahhaha. cant stop laughing.

This track is fantastic, I have been a fan of Metronomy for a while now and have been lucky enough to see them twice, their live shows are awesome - they wear lights on their chest!

I loved the remix of Kate Nash - if this had been on the single release it could have made them really, really big.

I saw them live the other week at Bristol, where they play regularly. They were so good live, outshined even CSS.

  11. Daniel Says:

I heard this on FBI Radio (Sydney, Australia) and was so impressed that I hunted it down.

If their other music is up to this standard I hope they have plans to tour down here.
