Kap10kurt + Rolf Honey

Ok don’t hate, but I was about to totally dismiss the remix of Kap10kurt’s “Dangerseekers” by Rolf Honey (Yuksek) — that is until after the first minute… and then I heard where it was going and it all came together and I realized how perfect and brilliant it is. This could be about fifty times louder and fifty times more obvious, but Rolf Honey puts the pieces together and builds it up like a pro. Just when you’re about to write it off as typical it becomes anything but…

Purchase “Dangerseekers” at Beatport or iTunes USA or iTunes Europe or Juno or wherever else you like to shop.
Bonus track!! Some of ya’ll probably list Dave Gahan as an idol or, at the very least, a hero. Kap10kurt recently damaged his “Use You” — they keep it sounding Depeche Mode-ish, but add that K10k twist: like blips and beeps that fight to stay together or risk falling apart. Kap10kurt also recently remixed Gahan’s “Kingdom” which is featured on the single alongside Digitalism and Booka Shade.

Bonus track times two!!! And while Dave Gahan may be your hero or idol, Yelle is mine. Rolf Honey takes on “Tristesse/Joie” and shows off some of the same flair that is present in the “Dangerseekers” remix — raises the bar, but I wish the first half of Yelle’s lyrics were present. Obviously though the production is the emphasis here, and that is where it shines.

Wow, they’re considered late because the track is just being released? Do any of us remember carting around 50 pounds plus of records and keeping those cherished bad boys in there for months at a time before rotating out?
That’s an attitude that definitely gets under my skin - quit worrying about trying to prove your own worth with how in the know you are and instead appreciate what blogging has been able to do for the music community. The instant gratification we can now get by posting new artists daily is changing everything - even at URB (a magazine I work for), we changed our yearly Top 100 list to the Top 1000, partially as a result of blogs like Big Stereo.
As late as you think Big Stereo was on this, I guarantee that there were people who stumbled across the tracks for the first time by reading this post. Way to go, Anonymous.
