Aw, the Pet Shop Boys would be proud. Here’s some total floor filler, dance anthem potential… This is almost too sweet to love, but the hint of “Around The World” is so perfectly timed (or timely perfect) that it impossible not to fall for Mel Merio’s “Domino Dancing”. The “wha wha wha wha whawha” part reminds me of Jody Watley or C&C Music Factory or something — I can’t put my finger on it. Oh, and that solo around the three and a half minute mark… yeah that makes me want to sweat:

Mel Merio – “Domino Dancing” (Extended Club mix) (mp3)

“Domino Dancer” is produced by Christopher Just. The single comes out next week. Look for an album Spring 2008.

    hot track!

Ew. The Pet Shop Boys would NOT be proud of this! She completely murders this song – no irony, no subtlety. Just overproduced, eurotrash vaginepop – and not in a good Annie/Robyn kinda way….

  • Matt

Isn't the solo a reference to another song?

the "solo" at minute 3:30 is the synth riff of the original psb version.

in my humble opinion the vocals don't suit the track – or vice versa. i had to laugh when the "popper"-melody dropped in tho'.

This is so lame. You post many good things. This is not one of them. Badly sung and badly produced. Where is the punch?

    Brillant! will burn the clubs.

I actually love her vocals… its killing me cause they remind me of another song and I can't figure it out.

Reminds me of one of the dance remixes of Pretty Poison "Catch me".

No no, Nu Shooz "I can't wait", I mean!

nu shooz! that's what it reminds me of.. not jody watley.

  • Melissa

The "wha wha wha" is totally nu shooz.

I think the vocals remind me of the sounds? the chorus part, agh i still can't figure it out! it's killing me!!!!

I picked this tune up last week and yeah, there's a number of familiar samples for sure. I was convinced there was a Kitsune somethingernother so I dug through some records and found he samples himself:

Christopher & Raphael Just – Popper (Shinichi Osawa Distortion Disco edit).

    crazy.

she uses a sample from daft punk but with a slight difference

if you listen clearly you can tell

the song is around the world
