Kylie
10 October 2007 :: posted by TravisAh… Kylie Minogue is my ultimate guilty pleasure. And obviously, there’s no one better to school Britney on how to do a come back performance.
In her new video for “2 Hearts”, Kylie channels equal parts Goldfrapp, David Bowie and Marilyn Monroe… and omg: look at that skull microphone. Whoever did the art direction for this video deserves an award.

the song is complete fluff, but it’s catchy and YES, the video is really great. she’s right on target with that one, i’d say, and pulled it off without going too tacky.

She´s the black marylin now, swinging to a slow soft rock song. We are still dancing pogo in her shoes.
Cheers,
Jenny and Robert.

I think the track is all right, but no one does Goldfrapp like Goldfrapp. I need some time to assess whether this is a styl I think is suitable for Kylie Minogue.
Let me just point out that Kylie is aussie.

The art direction’s been done by long time Kylie’s partner in crime William Baker.
The track is well produced but, to me, it isn’t that glam rock thing they might have wanted to do.
A little more work to be done, I think.

Still, one has to enjoy the fact that when the expected thing to do in order to stay hip would be to do a collaboration with some french house duo or so, she does the complete opposite and pulls of this 70’s glam rock! Probably won’t be my october soundtrack, but I love the initiative…

I wonder if this is one of the tracks she wrote with Jake Shears? Or even Calvin Harris? Those “woos!” in the chorus seem very Jake to me. I dig this. Kylie’s my guilty pleasure, too. She ain’t rocket science nor trying to change the world. Sometimes ya don’t need much more than that….
