Mix Tape Sunday VI

Us Americans are always looking for a reason to have a holiday, so we celebrated our ‘Labor Day’ this weekend…hence why ‘Mixtape Sunday’ that usually is posted on Monday has now been posted on Tuesday. Now it’s back to work, and here’s a few mixtapes we got this week to get you thru the rest of your week.
I don’t remember where I first heard about Holy Ghost!, but I remember it having something to do with the fact that they just got signed to the mega-label, DFA. Due to label constraints, all I could get my hands on was this mix from the guys, but its a refreshing mix with a bit of a disco flare. Definitely go check out the Holy Ghost! Myspace page…you’re gonna want to keep your eyes on these two. James Murphy seems to think so, too….
Holy Ghost! - End of Summer Boogie Mix
This one is from our fellow blogsters ‘Kidz By Colette.’ I read their blog daily, and you should, too. Since they’ve got the pick of the litter (esp coming out of France), they put together a pretty good mix of stuff that’s not too played out in the blog world.
Distort House Mix
DJ Vodou is currently stuck in the midwest with nothing to do but study for his exams and search music blogs all day for music to play at night. That even becomes a difficult task due to the fact that all the local college clubs start getting squeamish as soon as he strays from the Top 40. So he’s planning on taking his tables and Ableton to Chicago as soon as he possibly can…back to the home of house music.
