Duchess Say’s is here to stay at BigStereo. We are just giving you a little head’s up as what is to come with this band. They are from Canada, which thanks to Michael Moore we all know will be the final destination for us in the US of A when this country falls apart, that’s if they let us in. My word’s of wisdom to Canada are when the US builds their huge wall to mexico, you do the same. Then we’ll fuck ourselves over with no where else to go. Duchess Say’s only shows us that they can party just as hard or even harder.
Their dark DIY punk electro sound smashes the masses with blood pumping beats and heavy hitting vocals. They make me get up and dance rocking 80’s, 90’s and future sounds. They are working on their full length as we speak and they have more to show us, here’s a little preview of what they can do.

The Juan MacLean remix will be available on vinyl from SLU later this month. Unless of course the problem we had with the test pressing is a real problem, in which case a couple weeks later.

the lead singer quite a charmer. by chance, i saw them play at an old post office building in montreal called station c in 2004. it was an amazing arts/performance space, totally DIY. the building is now a gay sex club called back room. oh well, art or leather slings? it’s a toss up.

Thank god that DS finally got some blog play. I never got to seem them when I lived in MTL. Funny that you say they are woking on their full lenght they have been doing that for almost two years.
Oh well they are still great and the lead singer is a charmer, I saw her around here and there at olympico and social from time to time.

Someone sent me an mp3 of a live version (from a Halifax show) of this song like a year ago and i still play it to this day. i play both versions. This shit has some weird staying power….I hope that Juan Maclean thing is better than the Priate Soundsystem remix…

Duchess Says is awesome, I was glad when CBC but one of their live shows up online since their music is f’ing impossible to find.
Hopefully the full length will see the light of day before i’m forty.
