Jonas Game

Once in a while I get something in my email that usually i would not look at twice, but given the mood I was in that day I payed attention a little more than usual. This is the kind of stuff you only hear once in a while that changes the complete mood you are in as far as music goes. Not since Arcade Fire or Belle & Sebastian’s last album have I really payed too much interest in indie music, but this song really caught my attention and made me smile from ear to ear.

Jonas Game which apparently is even too good for MySpace or maybe too new, is getting a single released with one of my favorite non-electro labels at the moment The Tough Alliance’s Sincerely Yours label.
They have quite a good getup going, check out The Honeydrips as well.

Jonas was once in one of the biggest indie bands in Sweden, Bad Cash Quartet. Jonas Game is his solo project. Based out of Göteborg, Jonas is also the co-owner of Angel Records which released the Thieves Like Us Single last year before Kitsune got their hands on it. Expect more from Sweden, Jonas, Tough Alliance, Sincerely Yours, and Angel Records.

The sound of ‘New City Love’ is incredibly retro sounding yet fresh and fun. It pretty much sums up the way I felt when visiting Sweden, brings back memories of long summer nights, bike riding, and riding boats along the islands. How I miss it there.
