Bumblebeez + A-Trak
26 June 2007 :: posted by Travis
AHHHHHHH. Here’s your reward for making it through a long, hot summer day.
A-Trak turns up the heat on the Bumblebeez’ “Dr. Love” — creating a track that is very A-Trak-ish. Is that an adjective? I dunno. But there’s enough crazy influences on this mix that could only result from a combination of the Bumblebeez and A-Trak. I think I may like this an edge better than the original.
Apologies ahead of time, but I gotta keep this streaming for now. I hate to do it, but you know one of those other blogs will have some shitty rip for you in no time. Or better yet, actually buy the damn track when it comes out on July 7th. Pre-order here. The single has remixes by other favs the Soft Tigers and Architecture In Helsinki.
Bumblebeez - “Dr Love” (Trizzy’s Free iPhone Mix)
I wonder if we’ll get a million search hits for “free iPhone” now.
Oh and if you still haven’t seen the Bumblebeez video for “Dr. Love” it is posted back here — best video of the year. I swear I watch it daily… and laugh.

no way ho……zey
i like the original more,better structure,breakdown.
Remixes are great but rarely do they stand by them self as being as strong as the original.Yes there are some i do agree. So dont get a bee in ya bonnet or a bumblebee in ya bonnet and go sick at me.

There’s just something about all of these new cookie-cutter tunes that’s got me wondering how long ago the threshold was crossed. The bandwagon is filled to capacity. The video is good, but has this weird sense of trying too hard. I might be just sayin’ this because it belongs on the dance floor and not my bedroom. My bad.

my bedroom has a dance floor in it….maybe that’s why im all about it.
cant wait to see a-trak when he comes with kid sister here to SF in a few weeks….dont be jealous

Do you ever remember your parents saying that everything you listened to sounded the same? That’s what RawSteel sounds like with his ‘cookie-cutter’ comment, parents just don’t understand! I love the remix. I love his take on an already awesome song, makes me bit my lip and shake my hips. And if RawSteel is hating cause it ‘belongs on the dance floor’, then I think he is on the wrong blog. Boy do I feel sorry for whatever girl or boy is in your bedroom cause you sound boring in bed.

Is nice yes

Yea, honestly, cookie-cutter was kind of a trite thing to say. I guess I’m just ignorantly (but rightly so) referring to just another one of those indie punksters going dance and shaking their hairs around with sexy coy looks on their faces. My kitchen is actually my dance floor, and this track hasn’t made it through the ranks yet. Keep ‘em comin though.

loveit and just about everything else that a-trak touches

RawSteel — I can’t disagree more. I mean, if this was some new band that just popped up and some new remixer that just popped up, then yes… maybe. But the Bumblebeez and A-Trak have been at the front of this sound. They’ve helped create and mold it… they’re doing their thing with this track.
I guess I just don’t know what you’re expecting from it…
AND my whole house is my dance floor so I win!!!!!!! My car too except my radio broke and so I dance to other people’s music in traffic. Oh well.

A-Trak is a decorated master of turntablism…
That’s something the haters and bandwagoneers have to swallow…
Half of the so called current remix kings ought to learn how to
more skillfully manipulate their Serato files…
Most of their techniques suck ass outside the comfort of their studios…
Flosstradamus, Kid Sister & the rest of that crew are on their
way to bigger things with A’s assistance and deservedly so…
Recognize!

You can hear his brothers influence in the beginning - sounds chromeo-ish.
