Calvin Harris

Here comes Calvin Harris, a hot little filet of a 23-year old Scot just happened to turn ‘knob twisting’ into a full time profitable endeavor. This single has already gone crazy in the UK and his 80′s electrofunk disco dance album is set to be released in the US in September. Forget songs that have a catchy hook or intro, this just has a catchy everything. It sounds like those old ‘Simon’ light up games from the 80′s…blink blink orange…blink green…blink blink blink blue….makes me dance dance dance.

  18. Well, he’ll always encourage mixed opinions from this kind of audience, but if you’re bored of the over-pretentious guitar, drums and O.T.T reverb, then why not fall for a bit of pop? If you know little about him, this is from his first album from 2008 and as a whole the album is much more than gimmick of this track, but still lots of fun! His second album from the end of 2009 has much more layers and shows off a more technical appreciation of dance/pop music production. It’s maybe a bit more serious than the last, but still tongue-in-cheek.

It’s pop, full stop. And if you lower your guards and let in something mainstream, you might find you actually enjoy it!

Have a listen to “Yeah Yeah Yeah La La La”, one of my favs.
