Videohippos are currently on tour with Dan Deacon (including this Saturday at Check Yo Ponytail). I have to admit I was unfamiliar with them so I had to check them out, and I think I like them. All you indie nerd boys get your pitchforks and torches out because dare I say… I actually like them more than Dan Deacon (at least on tape).
Video Hippos kinda remind me of an old favorite… Hott Beat (whatever happened to them??). Same sort of distorted do it yourself basement pop that I have such a soft spot for.

Video Hippos blew Dan Deacon out of the PBR. I hope some good things happen for them on this tour, because they should have been headlining this tour.
Dan Deacon is too straightforward, Video Hippos have several layers of amazingness all happening at once.
