Glass Candy

I can’t think of a more appropriately named song. Within the first five notes I can instantly visualize some flaxen-haired, polyester-clad girl rolling down a grassy hill with the sun illuminating every blade on the way down. I love how Glass Candy draws from the music of 70′s movies/TV shows that you told everyone made you cringe, but was your secret guilty pleasure. The trumpets and synths backing up Idano’s breathy vocals totally transport me into one of those video sequences where i’m spinning around and around with Trip Fontaine (Virgin Suicides, people) and the camera keeps cutting back and forth between my smile and his smile fringed with a bad wig. I love it and can’t wait to hear what Glass Candy puts out next….Idano, you’re a stone fox.
