Feist - “1234″ (YouTube)
Ah, Bitch Lap Lap is back with a new album called The Reminder which is the best folk pop my ears have been privy to in a while. “1234″ might be the BEST pop song written in the past decade. This is one of the few times in music video history where the video is just as good… like make you wanna get up and dance good.
“1234″ is almost as great as her classic “Mushaboom” — another amazing video. I always enjoy watching Peaches trying to pull Feist back to Earth…

Our friend Preston has the killer Boys Noize remix of Feist’s “My Moon My Man” up on Kissatlanta. Cop that while you can.

it’s such a shame we’re on different coasts. but i think if we were in the same city, we’d hang out far too much and get nothing written.

Well, now that we’re throwing any sense of objectivity to the four winds…
This song is the greatest achievement in the history of music. Beethoven and J.S. Bach, were they alive, would soil their pantaloons when confronted with the compositional and performance genius that is Feist’s “1234.” They would never dare tread on the same stage with such towering greatness.
Look, I like Feist. I bought her first album. I’m looking forward to this one. But let’s not oversell it, huh?

Preston: we’d have blogs written about us.
Melissa: All I could think was how many takes did that take? Geez… I would never have that patience.
Eric: To be objective… I hated her first album save “Mushaboom.” So far from the 100 listens of “1234″ in the past month I stand by my “best POP song of the decade” comment… because it is… unless something comes along better in the next three years which I doubt is really possible. The album itself has been a favorite the past couple weeks… I don’t believe it will hold up forever, but it’s her best work yet.

Kudos go to New Buffalo for writing 1234.
