New Wave Tuesday: Mathematiques Modernes – Disco Rough

We’re back with another edition of New Wave Tuesday & we’re also back on the ‘French Wave’ tip. This time we offer up this delectable piece of no-wave/new wave goodness titled Disco Rough by Mathematiques Modernes. Disco Rough was released as a single in 1980. You can still find the 12 inch on gemm in very good condition for $8.00. Or, as Dr. Droy reminded us last week, this track was also released on the compilation ‘So Young But So Cold (Underground French Music 1977 – 1983)‘ on Tigersushi. The comp is an unfiltered look into the cultish no-wave/new wave movement which was taking place at that time.
