Pdl: Matt & Lil’ Kim

I’m a bit of a mash up freak… though I try not to post them too often: Partly because they are a dime a dozen these days. Mostly though because it is easy to make a good mash up, but it is almost impossible to make a perfect one. You already know the recipe for the perfect mash up. It takes two songs — two songs so different that they should never meet — and creates something more wonderful than the original tracks could ever reach alone. The sum of the parts are greater as a whole.
Pdl (who you may already know from The Mirror Boyz) has and upcoming internet album called Double Ice Creams Tonight. Mash up, smash ups, whatever you want to call it - Pdl prefers “playdates.” And the first track to hit the internets sounds just that, a playdate. “Verbs Before Nouns, Mothafucka”’ is the unlikely pairing of Matt & Kim and Lil’ Kim & Shanice. Really though, there is so much love already for both of these tracks on their own that I can’t believe I’m loving them together more.

why do people make lame mash ups like this one? this isn’t on beat. you can’t mix rap and new wave..ever. the linikin park and Jay-Z mash ups were awesome.
