Poney Poney

All of the Thanksgiving feasting has fried my brain. So I don’t have anything smart or clever or even anything stupid to say about this track. Except: I have listened to Poney Poney’s “Junior” about five billion times, and I could probably listen to this track about five billion more times.
I’m not much of a lyrics person. It usually takes someone pointing them out for me to notice. Yeah, usually for me lyrics come second to the music. BUT this is one of those open your windows and shout along tracks. The words beg to be noticed and are so damn good.

Poney Poney – “Junior” (mp3)

after the big “wolf” band craze (wolf parade, aids wolf, wolf and cub, guitar wolf, etc, etc, etc), now come all the damn pony bands. why does this happen?

it is a conspiracy.
2005 = wolves
2006 = ponies
2007 = ghosts

Excellent track. I know what you mean about lyrics… the only lyrics I normally listen to are Art Brut’s rhyming couplets, and that is only because you can’t avoid them!
I would quite like to understand The Hold Steady’s lyrics, as I would like to think they are deeply poetic and meaningful, and not just mad mind ramblings. Here’s hoping…
