What works best about The Bird And The Bee’s “F*cking Boyfriend”? Inara George’s Imogen Heap-ish vocals seem unexpected. She should be cooing over her loving boyfriend, not cooing over her would be fucking boyfriend.

So the Peaches remix should be easy, almost obvious. Not quite. This is the one remix that I want Peaches to drop her own vocals on top. Her dirty rap would sound brilliant muttering on and on about her fucking boyfriend. Instead she leaves Inara George’s vocals and places them onto some very safe synth action. Everything about this remix is safe. It could be dirtier. It could be more raw. It could be louder. I mean, after all we’re talking about a fucking boyfriend. But it falls somewhere in the middle. Maybe, maybe only when you blast this song at full volume does it take over. Maybe.
