Passions

There was this six month pathetic period of my life where I was totally unemployed and poor and I stayed at home and ate Bon Bons and watched soaps all day. My favorite was Passions because one of the story lines centered around Tabitha (a witch, duh) who would put Timmy (a living doll that was played by a dwarf) in the microwave or washing machine or other household appliances. He also would dance to the VengaBoys’ “We Like To Party.” I found some weird pleasure in it all. Then Timmy died, and I got a job.
“Emergency” by Passions is just as good as the soap opera but in a totally different way. I’m telling you. “Emergency” succeeds because it sounds like the best of everything out there right now, but Passions is still totally doing his own thing. This is big. I don’t really have words for it, but I love this track. There are like twenty different ideas in “Emergency” that most people wouldn’t dare to throw together. Passions makes it work.
