Tiga

Tiga

“Wooooooooo” is the sound of me trying to sound excited. Tiga recently saw the domestic release of his album Sexor on Last Gang. You know — the one you either bought digitally from Pias or, um, downloaded illegally a year ago. It is awesome that all these great dance albums are finally making their way to the United States. I just wish they were released when they were actually still relevant.

But… my fellow Americans, in case you live under a rock, here is an mpfree:

Tiga - “Far From Home” (mp3)

Watch: Tiga - “Far From Home” (mov)

Purchase: Insound

And, I must say that Sexor was my favorite album exactly a year ago. Crazy!

  1. I really don’t understand why it takes SO long for these albums to come out here. There’s Tiga, Soulwax and now Teddybears…how many of us have had these albums/tracks for forever? If it’s a marketing stategy I’d say it’s hurting the artists far more than helping.

Although I do suppose it can give you a nice bit of self-satisfaction when you can say ‘yeah I’ve had that for a year’ as a friend tries to tell you about this ‘new band Tiga’.

  2. are you crazy? it’s not the states where this music is bought the most, otherwise the recordcompanies would see money in releasing it in the states right away as well. they try out europe first. in europe dance music is much more popular. not always for the good. (there’s so much crap released as well)
but tiga is from canada, isn’t he? we normally have to wait for good music that comes from the states or canada… though, i wouldn’t call tiga good music. he sucks. (he actually does)
