Damn Arms

Oh thank you Jerry for pointing out this band. Good stuff. Maybe some of you cooler kids already know this band… they’ve toured Australia with The Kills, Test Icicles, We Are Scientist, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, etc, etc, etc. They are building quite the resume.

Damn Arms sound something like The Presets, but with more rock and less electro. I know, I know… this is like becoming the signature Australia sound… heavy synth mixed with some hard garage-esque rock. But it is so damn good. My problem with most American electro-rock is it is just way too predictable and pansy (ie The Killers). It’s like they’ve forgotten that before you get all disco, you need to cement the rock and roll. Australia hasn’t forgotten. Damn Arms is more proof that Australia seems to have an endless stream of talent.

Anyway. I am pretty excited about Damn Arms… they’re definitely driving the genre forward: electro-rock, nu-rave, whatever NME has decided to call it this week.

Oh, make sure you head over to Damn Arm’s Myspace to hear a pretty damn good Midnight Juggernauts remix.

The band will be entering the studio to record their debut album. Expect big stuff.
