Scissors For Lefty

As a left handed person, I always hated being stuck with the left handed scissors in grade school. See, usually there was one pair and they never worked properly and you had to share them with the only other left handed kid who was usually the kid who ate glue and picked his nose. Horrible. Naturally, I taught myself to cut with right handed scissors and have lived a happier life because of it. So Scissors For Lefty’s band name kind of makes me cringe.

I guess “Ghetto Ways” was released a while back in the UK as the lead single off of their debut, Underhand Romance. US fans are not out of luck because they will be releasing a 4-song ep September 25th… which is damn good. “Ghetto Ways” stands out a bit from the rest of Scissors For Lefty’s ep… perky synths and dance rock goodness. It’s downfall is it is might float to close to The Killers/The Bravery territory. Well, I guess if that is your thing it’s not a downfall. Whatever. Either way, it’s a strong track. And, the rest of the ep strays from that sound.
