I don’t know why — We’ve been kicking around Crystal Castles for a while trying to digest. There is something about their “Alice Practice” that is so perfect beyond words. Perfect. Perhaps had it fallen a slightly different way I would hate it, but the angular vocals, blips and beeps go against expectations and form something melodic. Like the video game has become nature. It would totally fine if this song lasted for thirty minutes. Or more.

37. I love them, and have for some time. My favs are Make it Hott, ALice Practice and the LittleOnes remix. We have a monthly dance party called Making Time here in Philly. There we get all sorts of fun electro artists. Anyone from The Presets, THe Raptsure, Digitalism, The Faint, Crystal Castles etc….

53. In light of the new evidence of Crystal Castles stealing, not only artwork, but now apparently music as well, the above blog post might be seen in a slightly different light. I do not know Trevor Brown, and didn’t think all that much of his claims previously. But now I am looking at this all very differently. I also like their music, but apparently, they are creeps who steal artwork and music as well. Follow the link to read about CC songs RELEASED on their new CD that contains uncleared pieces of other chiptune (8 bit) musicians’ tracks. In one case the chunk they took is quite long and makes up a large part of their song.

    “Ethan” (Claudio) from Crystal Castles, has distanced himself from the chiptune community in the past, claiming he wrote the music BEFORE he knew about the chiptune community. The sampled chiptune songs by Lo-bat and Covox show that this is a lie and it reveals his complete disrespect for the artists he is ripping off. Nice one Claudio. What an ass.
